Pete Jenkins

A bit about me:

• I have been participating in and organising triathlons since the late 1980s.
• I have been Welsh National Champion (standard distance in 1999, sprint distance in 2000).
• I represented Wales on the home nations team in 2000.
• I have represented Great Britain on the age group team on 9 occasions and have qualified for the team 12 times.

A bit about my coaching experience:

• I achieved my level 3 British Triathlon Federation (BTF) coaching qualification in 2007.
• I have been coaching triathlon for approximately 20 years since gaining my first BTF qualification.  During this time I have accrued a wealth of experience with both individuals and groups.
• I was the Welsh Triathlon Asssociation Coach of the Year in 2012.
• I achieved my level 2 British Cycling coaching qualification in 2014.

My coaching successes over the last few years include:

• Coached  2 Triathletes to qualify for Ironman World Championships Kona, 1 in 2016 and 1 in 2017.
• Coaching individuals for the GB age group teams for the World Age Group Championships: 5 qualifiers in 2012 and 2 qualifiers in 2013 and 1 qualifier for 2017.
• Coaching individuals for the GB age group teams for the European Age Group Championships: 4 qualifiers in 2013; 3 qualifiers in 2014; 2 qualifiers in 2015 and 2 qualifiers for the 2016 and 2017 teams.
• Coaching the 2013 European Age Group Champion for the 40-44 age group.
• Coaching 6 individuals to complete various Ironman competitions from 2012 to 2015.
• Coaching a visually impaired athlete to compete in aquathlon and sprint triathlon competitions as part of a relay team.
